I've written about this before, but I like the way Amazon.com reports quarterly results. First comes cash flow, followed by shares outstanding, then sales, and lastly income.
Here is what CEO/founder Jeff Bezos said in the 4Q'12 press release.
"We’re now seeing the transition we’ve been expecting. After 5 years, eBooks is a multi-billion dollar category for us and growing fast – up approximately 70% last year. In contrast, our physical book sales experienced the lowest December growth rate in our 17 years as a book seller, up just 5%. We're excited and very grateful to our customers for their response to Kindle and our ever expanding ecosystem and selection."

There's an old Wall Street adage that goes something like this: New 52-week highs and lows are frequently followed by new 52-week highs and lows. Right now I hope this adage holds true and that it holds true for a nice chunk of time.

AAPL is not a GDT::Portfolio stock, but ~68% of AAPL shares are owned by "Institutional & Mutual Fund Owners." AAPL is a NASDAQ stock and at 9:42am EST The DJIA was up 0.29%, while the NASDAQ was down 0.60%.
From Ycharts.com: "[Apple has] $137 billion of cash, short- and long-term investments on its balance sheet as of December 29, roughly 30% of its market cap." $137 billion seems like a lot of cash to me.
During the last three months of 02012, Google Inc. had free cash flow of $3.65 billion; capital expenditures (mostly computer equipment/data center construction) of $1.02 billion; and, increased its Google workforce by almost 4% (1,426 new hires).
