NeuroMetrix (NURO) Survives the Brexit Damage

The GDT::Portfolio got hit hard thanks to Brexit. If Wall Street really did "climb a wall of worry," then Brexit should have cause stocks to go up.

NeuroMetrix (NURO) was at $1.68 pre-Brexit and today (Tuesday, 02016.06.28; 2-Pi Day/Tau Day) it closed at $1.73. NURO spiked to $2.00 after some firm named Rodman & Renshaw initiated NURO with a 'Buy'. Volume was 407,612 vs. 67,406.

Facebook (FB) Reports 1Q'16 Results (And They Were Good)

Cash and cash equivalents and marketable securities were $20.62 billion at the end of the first quarter of 2016.

Free cash flow for the first quarter of 2016 was $1.85 billion.

Effective tax rate was 27%.

CEO Mark Zuckerburg... "We had a great start to the year. "We're focused on our 10 year roadmap to give everyone in the world the power to share anything they want with anyone."

iRobot (IRBT) Hits New 52-Week on 1Q'16 Results

iRobot (IRBT) spiked to a new 52-week high of $38.08 today (02016.04.27) after reporting 1Q'16 results.
"Our first quarter results were outstanding. Home Robot revenue grew 15% over Q1 2015, driven by significant growth in the United States following a record Q4 2015," said Colin Angle, chairman and chief executive officer of iRobot.

At $38.02, iRobot has an approximate market value of $1.1 billion, which seems low to me. The PSR (Price-Sales-Ratio) is less than 2.0 and this also seems low to me. I'll sell some IRBT at $50.27 (i.e. 16 $Pi).

Alphabet (GOOG/GOOGL) Reports 1Q'16 Results

Alphabet (GOOG/GOOGL) reported 1Q'02016 results when the market closed yesterday (02016.04.21).

I've be recording Google's (now Alphabet's) quarterly results since 4th-quarter 02008. Google reported 1Q'02016 results yesterday. In a nutshell: For the first 91 days of 02016, Alphabet generated $5.23 billion free cash flow while hiring 2,301 new workers and spending $2.428 billion on capital expenditures and paying an effective tax rate of 18%. Alphabet ended March with $75.264 billion in "cash." Seems like a decent quarter to me, yet right now (02016.04.22 at 7:42am MST) Alphabet has lost 5+% of its market price.

Illumina (ILMN) -- Heading For a New 52-Week Low?

Illumina (ILMN) lost 20+% of its market value when the market opened today (02016.04.19) after the company announced preliminary Q1'16 results that failed to match or exceed expectations. ILMN was at $139.09 at :40am EDT on 02016.04.19. 52-week range: $130.00 - $242.37. In other words, ILMN is approaching a new 52-week low. Hmm... Maybe we're nearing the end of the Genomics Age.

Hanger (HGR) Delisted From the NYSE; Now It's HNGR on OTC Pink

Hanger (HGR) is now HNGR because the stock has gone from being listed on the NYSE to the OTC Pink.

Hanger's accounting system is majorily foo'ed up.

HGR closed last week (02016.02.26) at $12+.

Hanger has been a great investment for the GDT::Portfolio, but once again I'm paying a price for being a long-term investor.

Cray (CRAY) hit a new 52-week high of $42.48 two days ago on 02016.02.17. CRAY has closed above $40 for three days in a row.

The embedded chart hints to me that CRAY could spike to $50+.

iRobots (IRBT) Sells Its Defense Business

iRobot (IRBT) press release on 02016.02.04: "iRobot Announces Sale of Defense & Security Business to Arlington Capital Partners". I'm a bit bummed with this because it seems robotic soldiers/devices is the future of war.

iRobot also announced that it will "expand its current share repurchase initiative by $65 million, including the expected proceeds from the transaction, bringing the total 2016 program to more than $100 million."

IRBT closed yesterday (02016.02.03) at $32.43. 52-week range: $27.55 - $37.71.

Yahoo! (YHOO) Dumps and Hits a New 52-Week Low

Yahoo! (YHOO) hit a new 52-week low of $27.15 this morning (02016.02.03) after reporting 4Q'15 results. My guess is YHOO will make yet another 52-week low before the market closes today. Yahoo! announced it was going to fire a bunch of Yahoo!'s, but the workforce reduction was not considered good news by Wall Street. I'm a fan of Yahoo! CEO Marissa Mayer (she's on my computing Dream Team), but my patience for her to implement a turn around has become a decaying function of time.

Cray (CRAY) Hits Two $20 Bills

Cray (CRAY) it $40.00 today (02016.01.29). CRAY went public on 01995.09.27 at $21.50. I'm tempted to sell some CRAY at $43.00, but won't. It has taken at least 20 years, 4 months, 2 days (and counting) for CRAY to double. Cray does supercomputing and big data. Supercomputing is required to morph large quantities into information. #Informatics

Twitter (TWTR) hit a new all-time low yesterday (02016.01.20) of $15.48 before closing at $16.69. 52-week high: $53.49. Now increasing noise about Twitter being taken over. Our TWTR investment is well underwater, but I'm tempted to add to our holdings.

NeuroMetrix (NURO) Reports Yet More Good news

NeuroMetrix (NURO) keeps making progress, yet Wall Street is not convinced the company has a future. Headline seen this morning (02016.01.21) prior to the market opening: "NeuroMetrix, Inc. (Nasdaq: NURO) today reported regulatory approval in China for DPNCheck®, a diagnostic test for peripheral neuropathy. The press release said, "China is dealing with an epidemic of diabetes."

One week ago the company reported the following: "NeuroMetrix Announces Highly Positive Industry and Media Reaction to Quell® Wearable Pain Relief Technology at the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show."

Mace Security Intl. (MACE) Hits a New 52-Week High

Mace Security Intl. (MACE) closed at a new 52-week high of $0.50 yesterday (02016.01.13). MACE is up 28% this year in a market that has been crashing. MACE has a 52-week low of $0.31 and it could take only a second for it to return to that price.

StemCells (STEM) Forever a Penny Stock?

StemCells (STEM) has me thinking... once a penny stock, always a penny stock.

STEM closed last Friday (02016.01.08) at $0.38. 52-week range: $0.31 - $1.39.

Rewind to 02015.12.30... 247wallst.com: StemCells Inc. (NASDAQ: STEM) was reiterated as Buy and the price target was raised to $2.00 from $1.50 (versus a $0.45 close) at H.C. Wainwright. A week earlier on 02015.12.24... Barrons.com: StemCells Stock Could Reach $3. STEM ended 02015 at $0.42.

Yahoo! (YHOO) Continues to Suck

Yahoo! (YHOO) is seeing increasing pressure to fire its CEO Marissa Mayer. I like Mayer and I think she deserves more time, but today (02016.01.07) there are reports that Yahoo! might fire 10% of workforce and that didn't help YHOO shares. At 10:24am MST, YHOO is down almost 5% for the day. More often than not workforce reductions are treated as good news. My guess is Yahoo! has bloated workforce, so its disappointing that YHOO is now almost within 10% of making a new 52-week low.

YHOO closed yesterday (02016.01.06) at $32.16. 52-week range: $27.20 - $50.41.

Mace Security Intl. (MACE) Reports Good News, Yet MACE Remains a Penny Stock

Mace Security International (MACE) issued a press release today (02016.01.05) that stated: "The company projects international sales of the Mace Brand defense sprays in the fourth quarter of 2015 will be up nearly 77 percent compared to similar sales a year ago." Now if only they can make some money and keep MACE from being a penny stock. So far this morning the headline "Concerns Over Safety Generate Surging Demand for Company’s Defense Sprays" hasn't impressed Wall Street.

" MACE closed yesterday (02016.01.04) at $0.38.

First Solar (FSLR) Spikes To New 52-Week High

Earlier today (02016.01.05) I posted about the GDT::Portfolio started off 02016 is a bad way. Numerous stocks had huge percentage decreases, yet I wrote I don't know why, but First Solar (FSLR) was up 1%.

First Solar (FLSR) opened today (02016.01.05) spiking to a new 52-week high. Why? Goldman Sachs upgraded FLSR to a 'Buy' setting a target price of $100. FSLR closed yesterday (02016.01.04) at $66.72. At 7:54am MST, FSLR was at $71.55, up almost 7%.

Bad Start To 02016 For GDT::Portfolio

The start of 02016 in a hashtag: #Ouch!

NeuroMextrix (NURO) and Yahoo! (YHOO) both down 6+%. Amazon.com (AMZN) and Illumina (ILMN) were down almost 6%. iRobot (IRBT) down 4%. Alphabet (GOOG/GOOGL), Facebook (FG), and Twitter (TWRT) were all down ~2.5%. I don't know why, but First Solar (FSLR) was up 1%.
